"Last year, my guitar teacher had moved away and I asked him to recommend a new teacher.  Instead, he put me in touch with Troy at Vancouver Rock School.  I didn’t feel at all ready to be playing in front of people, and still thought I should be working on scales.  Within a few weeks of joining Rock School I was singing and playing in a band, and putting together a set list for a friends and family show.  My confidence grew immensely over my year in Rock School, and my understanding of musical collaboration, musical dynamics and my own abilities grew too.  The atmosphere at Rock School was always positive, always supportive, and my Sunday band mates became friends.  I can’t say enough about the experience, and recommend it for anyone who wants to jump from playing alone to playing with a band."

"I’ve been working and collaborating with Troy at Vancouver Rock School since 2014. Ever since I started, my passion, focus, and ability on guitar and bass has improved much better than regular guitar lessons. And it’s way more fun to be in a band! Learning songs from The Black Keys to Jimi Hendrix and Taylor Swift, Troy and VRS has covered every bass for people of all ages to play and master their craft in music."

"Our son Alen had fortune to join Vancouver Rock School at age 10 and he loved every minute of it. Troy is amazing teacher, and has excellent report with children.  For, Alen the guitar lessons became way more important as he could now practice the skills he learned with his band. He made friendships and had a blast during practices.  You could see their progress at each practice and the laughter and energy at the end of practices was priceless.   They got to preform at a local school which was pretty neat.  I have no reservation in recommending Vancouver Rock School to any parent."
